All Round View (Charsadda): The US nuclear deal with Iran has impact both on Gulf states and European countries. The deal was negotiated in 2015 by Barack Obama administration, from which later the Donald Trump administration withdrew. Now with the return of Joe-Biden, he already has signaled about the return to the deal, and also argue that he will also involve Iran’s US-allied Arab neighbors, such as Saudi Arabia, which sees Iran as its arch-rival.
Germany has also cleared their position on the matter that a new, broader Iran nuclear accord must be reached to, also rein in Tehran’s ballistic missile program, and also said recently that 2015 deal was not enough.
Many of the terrorist activities in Saudi-Arabia was claimed by Tehran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen, Saudi Arabia has been targeted with dozens of ballistic missiles and drone attacks since the start of last year. The one most devastating was the attack on Armaco’s facilities, which knocked out half the output of kingdom’s crude. On Saturday, Saudi Arabia stated that Gulf states must be consulted, if a US nuclear agreement with Iran is revived. Saudi foreign minister has said “Primarily what we expect is that we are fully consulted, that we and our other regional friends are fully consulted in what goes on vis a vis the negotiations with Iran.” However, he answered one of the question when asked that whether new administration has already consulted the Saudi Arabia, he answered that not yet.
The request made by Saudi representatives was rejected by Iran’s foreign ministry on Monday, saying that “Everyone is free to talk, but it’s better that they do not talk above their level so that they don’t embarrass themselves,” and added that “Dwelling too much about the place of a mediocre country in the region does not help”. The Iran responded the request of Saudi Arabia in rivalry way and accused the Riyadh of being involve in funding extremist ideology, and consider them as a Trouble maker of the Arab and Muslim world.
After withdrawal of Trump administration from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of action, or JCPOA, and began re imposing sanctions as part of a “maximum pressure” campaign against the Islamic republic, Iran has walked back most of its key nuclear commitments in response to the sanctions.
The ‘Blame Game’ and proxy war between KSA and Iran must be brought into the negotiation table, and US must lead the campaign of bringing regional peace, in reviving the US-Iran nuclear deal, Gulf states must be consulted and to stop humiliation of humanity, the region must be bestowed by peaceful negotiations.
