A day after Prime Minister Imran Khan met ulema and scholars in Islamabad, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has geared up its efforts to foil an anti-government march to be organised by the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and backed by major opposition parties later this month.
In this connection, two federal ministers belonging to the PTI called on the chancellor of Jamia Binoria — an international Deobandi seminary where a large number local and foreign students have been studying — here on Saturday in a bid to get his support against the anti-government march on Islamabad.
Religious Affairs Minister Pir Noorul Haq Qadri and Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Zaidi met Mufti Mohammad Naeem at Jamia Binoria, SITE, and discussed with him the overall political situation with a specific reference to the JUI-F’s ‘Azadi March’.
The two sides met behind closed doors, but later they appeared before the media.

Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Sunday said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was using seminaries’ students to safeguard his sinking political career.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief would not gain any political benefit from such nefarious political tactics.
He also asked Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to inform the masses as to when his party would tender the resignations or hold a long march.
The minister expressed the believe that the PPP would never resign from assembles. It would surely contest the upcoming Senate elections and bye-polls.

Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Saturday criticized President Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman for being part of every government since 1988.
“Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman was part of every government from 1988 to 2010”, the federal minister tweeted.
Chaudhry Fawad said reliance on deep state was a bad thing but in the year 2010, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman went to the biggest ‘Deep State’ and ordered to make him the Prime Minister, offering his services.
“Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman sells war when he is in Pakistan and suggests solution of extremism when he is in the United States; he is wise enough”, he commented.
