All Round View(Peshawar): In Maldives, the Institute for Global Success (IGS) declared intentions to begin the first space programme.
The institute has signed a contract with the United Kingdom (UK)’s KSF Space Foundation to fulfil training and scientific research plans on the designing, construction and launching of spacecraft.
Under the contract, KSF Space will grant free service for industry experts from the United States (US) to train Maldivian students seeking higher studies.
According to IGS’ Chairman and CEO Riffath Mohamed, the first research project under the space programme will be launched early next year. Noting that experts have already carried the technical and feasibility studies of the project, Riffath stated that IGS was presently finalising partners.
“The main objective of the space programme is to earn a good name for the Maldives and realise the hopes of the youth”, stated Riffath during the event held to advertise the plan, “We want to see a day when Maldivian astronauts work in the space industry”.
